Stephanie Stackhouse co-owns SLO Yoga Center with her husband, Andrew. Both are graduates of Cal Poly and moved back to the Central Coast in 2014. Steph graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Finance and joined the tech start-up world in the San Francisco Bay Area. During her corporate career, she held various leadership positions at companies including LinkedIn and Microsoft. The stress and demands of corporate life led her to yoga and in 2013, she received her 200-hour certification. She also completed Level 1 Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste, in addition to advanced trainings through the Baptiste Institute. This past November of 2019 marks the fifth year anniversary of her family owning SLO Yoga Center. In July, 2018 they opened their second location in the Marigold Shopping Center. Stephanie also sits on the Board of Directors for Downtown SLO and teaches yoga weekly at the County Jail as a volunteer for Restorative Partners and at CMC with Prison Yoga Project. When not teaching, practicing, or managing the studios, you’ll find her with her two daughters or hiking in the hills with her husband and their dog, Roxy.
Andrew (aka ‘Stack’) co-owns SLO Yoga Center with his wife Steph. Yoga has provided him with a path for healing and growing, and is thankful everyday to live his dream. He loves to share with his students the practice of yoga as a moving meditation that provides challenge, growth, and multiple other physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. He completed his 200-hour teacher training at the Ashram Yoga Studio in Kirkland, Washington, completed Level 1 Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste, in addition to advanced trainings through the Baptiste Institute, and will complete his 500-hour certification with Jason Crandell in July of 2020. Andrew has provided mentorship to several teachers and has assisted two 200-hour yoga teacher training programs here at SLO Yoga Center. He’s excited to collaborate with amazing teachers to deliver another 200-hour Yoga Teacher training to our community this Fall. When he’s not teaching or managing the studios, he’s hiking in the hills, cooking meals for his family, or reading.
